Whether you want to volunteer for a few hours or are looking for an ongoing opportunity to make real change, there are many ways to support the families and our organization.

At The FPM Center

Bilingual Support: Volunteers utilize their bilingual skills in English/Spanish or English/Portuguese to assist families with apartment applications, crafting compelling introduction letters, and gathering essential documents. Bilingual volunteers also represent us at outreach events, letting families know about our services.

Office Volunteers: During the week, we often seek assistance in greeting guests and helping with administrative projects.

Meal Preparation: Like to cook? You can prepare a meal at home with your family or friends to deliver to the FPM Center for the families in Shelter.

Grocery Shopping: Help us purchase groceries and household supplies to supplement the FPM Center's existing stock.

Moving Day Support: When a family moves out of shelter, we rely on volunteers to provide the necessary support. We need individuals with large vehicles, as well as strong volunteers who can lend a hand in lifting and moving heavy items – from mattresses and box springs to boxes of household supplies.

Destination Drivers: By providing reliable transportation, you can ensure families reach their destinations safely and on time. Trips include helping them with grocery shopping, attending medical and dental appointments, participating in school enrichment programs, going to camps, and meeting other important needs.

Outreach Volunteers: When Family Promise is invited to community events, it is our opportunity to shine and let everyone know about the incredible work we're doing. We need enthusiastic volunteers to help recruit new supporters and ensure that families in need of our services are aware of the help we can provide.

Professional Expertise for Families: Volunteers often share their professional skills with the families in our programs. If you want to have a direct impact, you can help with resume writing, tutoring, job searches, and more.

Professional Expertise for Family Promise Metrowest: As a growing organization, we benefit from volunteers in our network who offer professional skills in marketing, event planning, legal assistance and more. If you have an expertise, let us know how you’d like to help.

Overnight Volunteers: When our live-in Shelter Manager is on vacation, we need an adult to spend the night to be a resource and comforting presence for our resident families. You can anticipate a very quiet night in a private and comfortable apartment.

At Our Events

FPM has two annual fundraising events that rely on the support of an incredible, volunteer Events Committee. If you would like to be part of this enthusiastic group, vital in the planning and execution of our “Keep the Promise” auction in November and the annual Walkathon in April, please let us know!
