If your business or community group would like to support Family Promise Metrowest, there are many ways to volunteer at the FPM Center or sponsor an activity that benefits the families.

Hold a drive: Holding a product drive is a wonderful way to support the families and make a huge impact on our bottom line. Give us a call to see what our current needs are. Past drives have included personal care products, cleaning supplies, and a hats and mitten drive to get through the winter months. Gift cards give families the autonomy to supplement costs of transportation, groceries, medication, clothing or personal items as needed when seasons change. $10-25 gift cards to Uber, Market Basket, Stop and Shop, Target, and Walmart are the most useful.

Prepare a meal: If your group enjoys cooking, we welcome you to come to The FPM Center in Natick and prepare an evening meal for the families in shelter using the kitchen in our center. The group plans the menu, purchases the food, and then preps and cooks the meal here so it is ready by 6:00pm. This is a fun activity for 6-7 people. Cooking can also be done at your location or a group member’s home and can be delivered on the same day. This is a good option when larger groups want to support our organization.

Form a team for our Walkathon: If your group enjoys physical activity, we suggest you form a team and join us in April for our annual walkathon. This is a wonderful opportunity to bring your own families along to enjoy our community event with food, music and activities for the children. With hundreds of supporters attending, you will be part of a community committed to ending family homelessness.

Plan a Party for The Families: We are excited to find a group or groups who would be willing to organize a fantastic social gathering for the 40 -50 families in all our programs. From finding the location, preparing a meal, decorating, and providing childcare, these events are very popular with families. This is a great multi-generational volunteering opportunity or an opportunity for multiple groups to work together toward a common goal. Help us create an unforgettable experience for everyone involved!

Other activities welcome: If your group has an idea they would like to share for a volunteer activity, we welcome the opportunity to offer skills and expertise with the families. In the past, we had a dental group provide cleanings and education, a local bank that provided classes in budgeting, and a community group offer to help move a family. All offers are appreciated!
