Sam Gloyd retired recently from a private psychotherapy practice in Back Bay Boston. After two years of volunteer adventure in retreat centers in the Brookeshires, Northern California, and Spain, he has returned “home” to Natick where he and his family moved from Illinois in 1978. After receiving an M. Div. degree from Boston University School of Theology, he was a licensed mental health counselor. Sam’s life work has been in human services. Qigong, yoga, meditation, biking, and hiking—anything outdoors—cooking, reading, learning Spanish, nurturing friendships, and hanging with grandsons, 12 and 10 years old, help to keep Sam tuned up, alert, and engaged.
