Whether your group wants to volunteer at the Day Center or hold an activity that benefits our families, there are many ways to volunteer for Family Promise Metrowest.
Hold a drive: Holding a product drive is a wonderful way to support our families and make a huge impact on our bottom line. You may choose to collect personal care products, cleaning supplies or maybe do a hats and mitten drive to get through the winter months. Gift cards are also a wonderful option for families to purchase clothes for a new job or personal items as needed during the year.
Prepare a meal: If your group enjoys cooking, we welcome you to come to our Day Center in Natick and prepare an evening meal for our guest families using the kitchen in our center. The group plans the menu, purchases the food, and then preps and cooks the meal here so it is ready to be delivered to the host congregation by 5:30pm. This is a fun activity for 6-8 people.
Assist in our office: Small groups of volunteers (6-8), are always appreciated to help with large mailings during the year. We have several community groups who enjoy getting together over lunch to stuff envelopes, sort and get the mail organized to be sent.
Form a team for our Walkathon: If your group enjoys physical activity, we suggest you form a team and join us in April for our annual walkathon. This is a wonderful opportunity to bring your own families along to enjoy our community event with food, music and activities for the children. With over 1,000 people attending last year’s event, you will be part of a community committed to ending family homelessness.
Other activities welcome: If your group has an idea they would like to share for a volunteer activity, we welcome the opportunity to offer skills and expertise with our families. In the past, we had a dental group provide cleanings and education, a local bank that provided classes in budgeting and a community group offer to help move a family. All offers are appreciated!
